[DeTomaso] Rust - does it go away?

I've recently welded factory holes in my engine bay. I researched
extensively how to protect the metal. I went with epoxy primer. It sticks to
everything and everything will stick to it (bondo, primer, paint, etc) and
it seals out moisture. And yes, I cleaned and coated the backside. If you've
ever used it, you will know it's bulletproof.
