[DeTomaso] Rust - does it go away?

Hi Erik,

Are you painting POR-15 like they say too? I bought all there cleaners and
acid. It still did not hold well on clean metal. It was looking for a better
"tooth". If you paint it on top of paint it dose nothing to seal the metal.

I have a friend that was working on the painting crew (truck driver)
painting the "Big Mac" bridge in Mi. They spend big $ on that project. It
does not last very long. You would think they would use POR-15 if it lasted
longer...

Do some research on POR-15.

I used it for some non-rusted areas last winter: inner rear fender
walls, frame rails, engine-side firewall, etc.  It is killer shit.  

This winter (I'm Canadian, eh), I am planning on doing my cabin-side
firewall, floor pans and doors.  A nice coating of Dynamat (actually, I
use B-Quiet) and you have a rock solid rust-inhibited beauty that will
last several more decades.  I am even considering splashing POR-15 over
my entire under-body - just because ...

In general:  if you have a rusted piece of metal, and you take it from
the wet area, does the rust continue to form and eat away the good
metal?
Same question, but a piece of wood?
Same question, but Black Mold in your home?
