Are you talking about the front trunk area?   Or the underside of the front 
hood?   The cars didn't come with lining under the hood or decklid, 
although some people have chosen to put things there.   Vinyl pads probably aren't 
so bad (that's what the factory, and Hall Pantera both sold), but felt 
material may trap moisture and contribute to rust there?
