[DeTomaso] window glass

I just spoke to Dave (I think it was) at Panteras by Wilkenson. He has side window glass without the Pantera logo which he's selling for $110! That's almost a third the price I've seen. He said they were made without the logo by accident and that's why they're so inexpensive. I've been waiting a long time to replace the driver's side window in my Pantera which was scratched by the previous owner replacing the cat whiskers incorrectly.

He and I also discussed the window motor. He has new, bolt-in replacements for $177, which seems like a lot of money to me. He said they are faster than the originals. I asked him about the Taurus motor retrofit, and he said that after modifying the mechanism to get that to work, if Taurus motors ever became unavailable, one would have to buy an entire new window mechanism to get it to work again with the stock motor. Currently my motor seems to work OK, although a bit slow, so I'm not sure if it's worth buying a new motor just because I want to save the labor of having to take the door apart twice in case the original motor breaks two weeks after I've replaced the glass!

Any thoughts on the window motor discussion? I know there's been a lot of talk on the forum about window motors, but I just wondered if there had ever been a final, satisfactory solution.

Thanks,

Chris
