[DeTomaso] Throwout Bearing for Centerforce Clutch

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I searched the archive and couldn't find it, so bear with me please. I've got my ZF out on the garage floor and the TO bearing out, but I want to make sure I replace it with the correct one, and I'm concerned that I may have another problem that I don't understand.
As a reminder, I was in Ely last month ready to run the Silver State when my Pantera started to make noises that sounded like a bad throwout bearing. It didn't make any noise when the clutch pedal is
out (no load on the bearing) or when the clutch pedal is in all the way (full load on the bearing). It only
made noise occasionally when the clutch pedal
 was depressed or released
as the clutch started to engage. Once engaged, it did not make any noise.
So, in the normal shifting sequence, no noise when I push the clutch in and
hold it while the car is stationary, noise starts as I let the clutch out and the
clutch starts to engage, and finally, no noise when the pedal is out and the
clutch is engaged and the car is moving. I drove the car home 500 miles with
not problems and have finally gotten around to pulling the ZF.
I have a
centerforce clutch with a heavy duty centerforce pressure plate
assembly from Bob Byers. I looked at SOBill's data spreadsheet and it
recommends a Ferderal Mogul 1697 bearing. I contacted my local NAPA
store and that bearing retails for $97 and is available for about $50 cross
referenced to a NAPA #N1085. The bearing I've been using says TT 1181
and USA on it.
My problem is with the bearing in my hand, it sounds fine and looks fine
EXCEPT it shows rubbing-metal-wear around a chamfered surface near the
outer OD of the bearing facing the flywheel. I've posted photos on the POCA
photo page. This chamfered surface seems to have been contacted by the
moving weights on the centerforce clutch that effect the increased force on
the flywheel during operation. These weights are held in place by the
multitude of fingers and a circular spring that allows the weights to move in
and out with rpm. These weights seem to be wearing on this
 chamfered
surface and creating a rough/worn
 surface that I
think may be the source of
my noise.
I'm wondering if I have the wrong throwout bearing or a bad clutch or wrong
installation or it's making a normal nasty noise. Anyone seen this before?
Anyone know the correct throwout bearing to use on a centerforce clutch?
Anyone know if I'm asking the right questions??? Thanks Scott
