Ah, of course! The motor acts as a generator when the ordinary relay
cuts power, keeping the solenoid on the starter engaged until the motor
eventually drops enough RPM to not being able to hold the solenoid engaged.
Wiring it properly is so simple that there shouldn't really be any
reason for not doing so.
