For those that have an interest in "engine" related news, read on.

Many of the engine gurus in the forum are familiar with AERA (Automotive
Engine Rebuilders Association) and the AERA Engine Builders
Association. This association is looked to by the heavy hitters in the
engine building business to represent their interests in their industry
and provide education and news for their members. Their web site is
http://www.aera.org/default.aspx

Their current issue of "Engine Professional" has as its feature article
a writeup of the "Boss" engine used in the latest Shadrach Mustang
offering.

The cover page of "Engine Professional" has a picture of the Boss engine
before it was installed in the latest Shadrach Mustang.

See: http://www.aera.org/ep/index.html for access to the publication and
the index to its content.

On that web page, if you click on the index item, _A "Boss" to reckon
with_, located to the right of the cover page picture, it will bring up
the article. For the engine gear heads in the crowd, it makes for
interesting reading.

The engine pictured in the article is the first "The Boss" Limited
Edition Shadrach Mustang that we built. The engine is the first of the
clone engines Garry built using his block, head, and manifold castings.
He and John Kaase are working together, along with several of their old
associates, to share information and parts to leverage each others work
and minimize duplication of efforts.

For those that have a need to know, these engines are relatively
expensive in full dress. The engine shown in the picture costs around
$65,000, and puts out around 800 hp and 800 ft/lbs of torque on pump
gas. It was detuned from over 900 hp to insure we could feel
comfortable giving a the 3 month/3,000 mile warranty drive train
warranty to a customer when it comes installed in the Shadrach.

An entry "Boss" engine configuration runs around $30,000.
