The Mallory Unilite that came on 2511 has now seen almost 40K - 35K of  
those while with me - miles with no problems.  I did lose a coil some  
years back - cracked - but that was easy.

I do carry a spare dizzy, with optical piece, on long trips, though.

If I was starting from scratch, I'd go with a nice stock Ford  
Duraspark for the universal availability of parts; rather nice on a  
road trip.
