I spoke to CompCams two weeks ago and the tech told me that all their cores
are compatible with oem distributor gears; that they don't require steel or
bronze
gears. But I wouldn't go on that info alone. Call them back with your
grind/cam number and ask what the core material is. If it's less than 8620
steel you can use
a Mallory steel allow distributor gear.
