Definitely go for 'satin' black; my GT5 is done in a semi-gloss and it doesn't look half as good as a satin. For my '74 which still has the stainless trim I initially wanted to go for powder coat, but I found the upper door/window trim is particularly hard to remove and I was worried about the reinstall process and damaging the coating, so opted to go the Satin black trim paint route and will paint that piece still on the car.



On that basis I did some research into what paint was best a while ago and the recommended product was 'SEM Trim Black', which is sold by Eastwood as a standalone or as a kit with self etching primer. If the statements are true about the paint adhering to aluminum, stainless and chrome, I'm not sure why you'd need the self etch primer?
