[DeTomaso]    Another Italian/American car

I'm confused as to the Italian portion. There is an inference or two to
Italy - "in the finest Italian tradition" but I can't find why they even say
that? Where does the "Italy" thing enter the equation?

This thing is such a joke. It's simply a rebodied Corvette. If they
just advertised it as such, that would be fine. But they are pretending
that
this is some sort of Italian/American hybrid like a De Tomaso, Iso,
Bizzarrini etc. Those cars were purebred Italian designs that just
happened to be
equipped with American engines. This thing is a 100% American car, built
in California, probably designed by Californians, and hasn't been within
10,000 miles of Italy.
