That's because there is about $60 in materials and a half day of labor. If you told him he could still charge some

ridiculous amount he would gladly do it.  Two of my Panteras had absolutely beautiful paint jobs and got lots of 

compliments. The black primer car has gotten more "Wow! that's great!" kind of comments than the others combined.

It's just fun.  If I were going back to a matte finish I'd do it right.  Now there are satin finish clear coats that you can wash and wax with none of the old flat black hood problems. I'm going to paint mine myself since the body is so good.  Probably

going back to the semi original red with black Gp4 sections.  This car was painted twice at the factory, first green the red.

They all look good.
