The new ones are pretty sophisticated. They actually  learn the proper 
torque required for every installation, altho this isn't as  much as you might 
think provided the springs are properly set. The other neat  thing is the 
self locking mechanism. When the door is down, it actually throws  a dead bolt 
to prevent the door from being forced up.
