Jay, I can tell you that I installed my windshield first, then tried adding
the trim. The retaining part of the trim is vaguely S-shaped and will only
go into the matching rubber slot with difficulty unless wetted with water or
'something'. I got all but the last piece in without much trouble but I
could not get the last part of the last piece to go in and stay down flush.
Perhaps it would work if the trim was put in place first, but that introduced
glass-installation problems; I finally decided not to use the trim at all.
And since '91, neither Judy nor I have missed it, the windshield doesn't leak
and all is well. FWIW- J Deryke
