[DeTomaso] Canton Fuel Filter O Rings

While I have the Pantera apart for new paint I pulled the Canton 5 mic fuel filter to change the filter element and both O rings expanded to the point where they will not fit in O groves on re-assembly. 

I'm calling Pegasus monday to order new o-rings but curious if anyone else has had this problem before?  I assume the expansion is from fuel.
