[DeTomaso] need advice before I cry

I buy 50 50 AF premix usually because all the work is done already. If you use 100 AF and mix it yourself use distilled water. Not crap from the city with floured. Lime and probably mind control drugs added in. That junk helps clog radiator tubes. Michael

thanks for the thoughts.

I did have the rear up. I ended up putting 6 gallons of antifreeze mix in last month and seemed to get the air out first time around. My first thought was air in the system, but the thermostat always eventually opens up. this time it did not.

By the way, the simple thought of removing the heads makes me want to cry. That means removing and reinstalling fuel injection lines, intake, adjustable valvetrain, alternator. lots of work which is hard to do in car AND hard to do when you just spent the last year doing it.

With standard 180 thermostat Re wet with all fluids. Run it for 15 minutes. Jack it up in the rear. Open both tanks when you can add 50 50 mix until it overflows. Start it with caps off. Watch. Let it run 5 min. And lower it. Now cap it. Drive for 20 min. Bring it home. Let it cool. Open caps and check levels. Michael

I have a second temp sensor hooked up to EFI system in thermostat upper pipe, and that reads 160, so I figure must be air in block still and run it a little more. Dash gauge temp goes steadily up to 260 (end of reading), and temp sensor in upper pipe remains at 180. car runs fine, and I wonder if dash gauge is no good (but it worked fine on maiden run few weeks ago).
