A neoprene crank seal will actually wear a groove in the crank nose over 
time. If the groove is too deep, a brand new replacement seal will only last a 
short time. So these thin, hardened slip-on repair sleeves are a good deal, 
depending on the actual cause of your leak. FWIW- J Deryke
