Subject: [DeTomaso] Project Deauville Located in US Listed on Ebay

I was curious if anyone on the list knows the history of the 1971
Deauville from California currently listed on Ebay. (Current bid -
$6,000.00) It looks like quite the project, and I was also wondering if
the Deauville exclusive parts that are missing from the car are
obtainable since the factory went into receivership? (The seller says
that they are all there, which I kind of find hard to believe.)

Thoughts?

***Are factory parts available? Perhaps. Based on my experience in the
factory there are all kinds of odd parts hanging about.

The question is if the factory KNOWS they have the parts. The warehouse is
kind of a disaster, and the guys who knew where all the parts were are long
gone.

Not much help, but I wouldn't say that the parts are NOT available... If you
are serious about restoring a Deauville, I'd get a list of parts you need
and ask the factory (or Steve Wilkinson) to see what they say.
