Most salaried people I know don't make overtime wages. Yep, crazy money being made on both sides.
Average income in Ontario is ~$42k/year. My neighbour, who is a machinist at Chrysler made $135k last year. He knows of co-workers who topped $200k.

Them's salary people. I would guess that they are making $80K - $100K per year + overtime + benefits. When I worked for John Deere I wondered how they could make a profit. Their ratio of salary employees to hourly employees was 1.8 : 2.

How about the small number of people on the product development teams who create the cars, how much an hour should they make?

All the best, Dick Ruzzin.
