Solid rotors which the '71-74 Pantera has as-stock, work fine for the 
street. On track, or in 'vigorous' driving in the mountains, they will overheat 
and rapidly wear out pads 'n other parts. I remember a stock '74 at a track 
day at Laguna Seca, that came into the pits after only a few hard laps, with 
smoke rolling off the completely stock rear brakes.... Some sports cars have 
thinner rotors at the back to balance the braking. Other designs use a 
smaller diameter rear in place of thin rotors. All cars use smaller calipers at 
the rear, for the same reason. FWIW- J Deryke
