[DeTomaso] Heater valve

In my new car, I notice a lot of heat coming from the footwells. I have
heater shut off valves that are shut off. I suspect that a lot of this heat
is coming from the radiator which vents the hot air against the front wall
of the front trunk. The hot air then goes under the car. It appears that
much of the sheet metal under the car is bathed in very hot air. I would
think that heat insulation everywhere you can get it in the footwell area
would help. I think if you vented the hot air thru an opening in the hood,
it should reduce the heat going to the footwell. But then it probably
subjects the windshield to more heat.
