[DeTomaso] Pantera LEDs

I was thinking that, with the LED kit, you could put a brighter LED in the
front to use as a flash function, but as you've stated, the wiring would
probably be more PITA than it's worth.
Thanks

Mike,

Since the white portion of the GT5 two-color signals are running lights,
they are both fed by the same wire.
But so are the rear running lights fed from the same source.
Thus, if you spliced into that wire and could find the flash feature wire
from the stalk, you would be flashing all the running lights.
You would need to isolate the front bulb wiring from the rear wiring for the
flashing feature, but keep them both capable of being lit with the lights
on.
Probably a bit of a PITA needing diodes and/or relays.

BUT, that bulb is only a 5 watt bulb. Anything bigger will, and has, melted
the lens.

So flashing a little 5 watt bulb, tucked down below the bumper, would
probably be about effective as waving a Bic lighter through the windshield.

Now, if you were to install some true running lights, like Carello or Cibie
and hook THEM to the flasher feature, through a relay, now you would have
something that would be visible.

But here in the good ole USA, how many folks have the foggiest notion of
what the flashing lights are all about in the first place?

Larry
