[DeTomaso] Drag radial blow out (Follow Up), questions

Thanks for all responses.
I searched all the tires last night and already ordered these Ecsta XS.
2 tires to the door for 440$ is within my reach.
They do seem like a good deal and sort of match the pattern on my front PS1.

As for my tire pressure I had the rears at 35 PSI as I recall. I checked them within last 7 days, visually checked them before I left yesterday.

As for the tire, there is NO Leak. It held 35 PSI all night.
The sidewall looks destroyed and is much softer now than the other one.

I am certain it overheated and deflated and it I had only gone 7 miles from home. I did however speed briefly on a straight stretch right before it instantly deflated.

I have those PIM rims that are no longer made. What is the cheapest (Ugly is OK) wheel I can buy to keep for mishaps like this?
I had no spare and I felt like a dufus stuck on the interstate and flat bedding it home.
On Sunday no tires place was open around here.

No more drag radials for me. It it had a hole in it or I did not watch my tires pressures I would be less skeptical.

The Kumho's also come in a good range of widths/profiles for 17 and 18 wheels, so a matching set should not be a problem for narrow or wide body cars.

I will get new non drag tires now but if it had no hole did it overheat and melt away from rim? The temp rating is A. It was cool today and I have driven it way longer on hot days at speed to further places many times.
