[DeTomaso] Starter

Boyd - has anyone mentioned initial advance?
With a hot engine and somewhere over 16 degrees of initial advance (and
surely by 20 degrees),
the starter just doesn't roll the piston through TDC before the
combustion pressure gets out of hand.
The geared starters give you more leeway here by turning over a hot,
high-compression engine faster
and by having more grunt to get over the top.
