This is probably the only time an easy-out will work. FWiW, the stock 
breather fitting simply pressed in. Unless someone tapped the hole for a pipe 
thread, the end may still be just pressed in. But in any case, it should easily 
come out with a screw-remover like an easy-out. Good luck- J Deryke
