[DeTomaso] 1st CAR TO FINISH WAS PANTERA - Re: GUMBALL FINISH - CONGRATS BOB & JUSTIN

PS  I just talked to Bob again....he didn't realize UNTIL he drove across the finish line that they were the ""1st"" team to cross the finish line. 

Bob said that after the stopped for accident and then repairs he and Justin decided to take a short cut route along H-95 South into Miami....doing so he was the 1st car to finish......the rest of the entries were dragging behind a SLOW police escort into town on another road so Bob and Justin actually crossed the official finish line before anyone else......he said as he drover across crowds emptied into the street to greet him, pat the Pantera and give him thumbs up and basically it sounds like the crowd just went NUTS when Bob drove in.....he was thinking, "Okay they are cheering because I am the last car in?"....

No Bob was the 1st car in!

Amazing Story....Mike I know you have already started a story but this ending is like something out of a movie....no I am NOT kidding.

Through diversity, dead woman, a/c and headlight repairs our men made it to the FINISH LINE. 

After they jury rigged exhaust repairs with chewing gun and bailing wire they drove the Pantera across the finish line!

sounds like use #738 for duct tape........worked well (along with handcuffs) for the stripper who danced on my car in Vegas back in '01.

I'm glad they are okay and I'm glad it looks like he'll make it all  
the way, pretty much on time.  That is to say not a day late or  
something.

This has been a great story, I hope we get it all put together sometime.
