[DeTomaso] Master Cylinder Replacement Solved

Reading Larry's comments again I decided to check into this a bit
more. I jacked the car up and found that the back brakes dragged
slightly. I then took the master off and pulled the brass fitting
from the cylinder body but I didn't find any kind of valve. I called
a local Ford dealer and the technician told me that the 83-85 Ford
Ranger master has a residual pressure valve inside of it. Anyway, I
didn't want to have any concerns about my brakes so I looked online
and found that PI Motorsports has a really nice replacement that looks
like the original and drops right in so I ordered one. Since my car
is so stock looking this master should look right and function
properly without too much effort. While I think the Ford unit could
work I'll feel better with the Italian looking master cylinder that is
already set up for discs all around. Thanks again everyone! Mike
