When I push on the clutch, there's about 1/2" of travel before it feels as if it is engaging, then it's much stiffer than the old one. When my wife got in and pushed the clutch down (grumbling all the while about what a "cocoon" the Pantera is), I heard the ZF "click" when the pedal was pushed in all the way, which indicates to me the shift rod was rotated to its maximum. I'm just a bit concerned that while I was in the house watching TV some air might have slipped back in through the bleed valve if it wasn't tight enough after the second bleed.

Is it the pedal or the slave cylinder that has 1/2" of travel? According
to the owners manual the pedal free-travel should be 1/4" - 7/16" (6 -
11mm) and .102 - .106 (2.5 - 3mm) at the lever.

This is where you should have the .102" - .106" play when you push the
pedal to take out the free-travel.

The long-throw cylinder *will* be much stiffer than the OEM cylinder.

I installed my Centerforce clutch with the stock cylinder and was amazed
at how light the pedal was, but it required that I pushed the pedal
almost to the floor to be able to shift properly. I replaced the stock
cylinder with a long throw, and the pedal travel and effort is now very
similar to what it was with the stock clutch.
