[DeTomaso] Question...

Dear Steve,

Well, as long as nothing happens then there is no problem........

It depends. IF the block has been reliably sonic tested by a reputable shop and IF those numbers indicate that the block has unusually thick walls that would permit a forty overbore with acceptable remaining thickness, THEN it would be OK.

Generally, most 351Cs do not have enough wall thickness to tolerate forty overbore or even thirty overbore. If you want it for a spare block for future rebuilding then I think that it would be a rather high priced *questionable* block without sonic testing.

That said, there are people that have forty overbored non sonic tested Clevelands that reportedly work well and that is good and it is part of the unpredictable variability of messing with engines.

If you want a spare block then I would source one local to you from a source that provides sonic testing.

Warmest regards, Chuck Engles
