Bob and Justin made it through 1st leg from Santa Monica Pier through L.A. traffic in heat to Las Vegas last night okay. 

His Pantera ran good with the exception that the headlights stopped going up and down! ;-]>   He has someone lined up to help for today's stop at Sedona Arizona....if you have your own lessons learned please share them on line or with Bob directly.  

Yesterday, LarryK and I met Bob and Justin at the Santa Monica Pier around noon.  All the cars and drivers and co-drivers were lined up in a fenced off paddox area but the general public were allowed to stroll around inside the fence and talk to the drivers and celebrities at will until the last half hour before the start.

Larry got a bunch of photo's of Bob's Pantera and all the wierd assortment of other exotics and everything from Dennis Rodman's custom tractor rig to a police car with 2 guys in environmental suits and masks that said "Swine Flu Response Team" to a Chevy Caprice on steroids with 30" wheels and tires.....the usual assortment of celebrities, freaks, old hippies, politicians and locals. Lots of crowd entertainment. Bob and Justin had ear to ear grins and were totally pumped up about the start. 

Bob's brother and some other family and friends from L.A. area came out in force to support his start.

LarryK is sending Santa Monica Pier photos to AJ to post on the TPR site. We never found Lauri and her sister in the crowd but heard she got some great shots of all the cars leaving and she is going to post some of her photos on the List as well.  They wouldn't let Laurie inside the fenced in start area so she just climbed over the fence....you don't mess with Laurie! ;-]>  Seriously, thanks Laurie for coming out to support Bob's start.
