Besides everything Judy mentioned, i no longer drive/ride in sports or 
performance cars without a fire extinguisher aboard. Almost all such machines 
have at least one modification to the fuel system, and most engine fires come 
from owner mods to the system, or in older cars, from lack of maintenence to 
same. And in our car, an on-board collapsible spare tire with a 
non-explosive inflater can, a jack and some tools, as well as a complete set of fuses, 
has in the past saved the day. Its surprising what comes loose (like 
radiator hose clamps!) after a 5-8 hr drive, when trolling around your local area 
on short trips just doesn't show. Oh, and besides the spotty cell-phone 
service, FM radio likewise is sparse in ther Sierra so pack a few music CDs for
