FWIW from verbal descriptions from 1000 miles away, his clutch disc is not 
stuck; its cocked sideways and jammed in the mechanism. Removal (or partial 
removal) of the ZF is essential to see what happened. Just knocking parts 
back into rough alignment guarantees this can happen again. And he's getting 
ready for a 2K road trip..... Best to get eyeballs inside and see what's gone 
wonky, then fix it right.
