[DeTomaso] ZF removal question

You don't have to bend the ears. It is better to loosen the motor mounts
and tip the engine.
Roger Sharp & Jim Keuhne (master mechanics and DeTomaso master specialists)
remove the bolts that go into the block, versus any of the other ones.

The ZF removal procedure details this (pics and text).

You also just loosen, but not remove the flange bolts between the header and
exhaust pipes.

They have a "right-sized" bar (a bit larger than a 1" channel bar) that is
then placed between the oil pan and frame rails. This tips the back of the
engine enough to slide the ZF snout right in. My photo of this is not the
clearest. The bar size is slightly different depending upon the oil pan
used. They have the bar for the stock pan, but we needed a slightly larger
one for my Armondo pan.

Again, all this is in my ZF removal procedure...

I know there are a couple of ways to pull the ZF, one way requires bending
the rear ear mounts back and down which, quite honestly, I do not want to
do. The other way requires unbolting the engine motor mount bolts that go
through the hockey pucks, lifting the ZF while tilting the engine then
pulling the ZF backwards while the engine is supported with a jack.

My question if I pull the ZF in this manor, do I need to remove the headers
from the block or do I need only remove the exhaust at the collectors. I
know I will need to remove the dizzy.

Thanks
