[DeTomaso] Hatch Cover

I was able to get some flat weatherstripping from Autozone. Its a bit thicker but works well.

I'm prepping my firewall and hatch cover for the installation of some
dynamat.



Two questions.



1 - What kind of primer/rustproofing paint should I apply, if any, prior to
applying the dynamat? (I'm cleaning up oxidation wherever I find it.)
Obviously, it won't been seen with the firewall cover on, so I don't think
the cosmetic appearance should matter very much.



2 - The engine side of the hatch still has the remains of what looks like
the original "weather stripping" around the edge.  Much of the free heat I'm
enjoying in the cabin is due to this leaky hatch.

As you can see, there are significant gaps around the bolt holes, a piece is
missing at the bottom of the right edge, and the bottom edge has some
seriously torn up stripping about 3 / 4 of the way across  that isn't going
back into place and remain there any time soon.  What are people using to
replace what came on the car?
