I would suggest mounting them on the doors as far forward as  
possible....means drilling new holes though.   
 
That way you don't have to pull your head back and turn in  order to use 
them. just a glance to either side.  Another great help was  mounting the inside 
mirror on the windshield, where it is lower and farther  forward, again no need 
to cock your head to use it, and no  vibration.
