Except that "I think":

heat + dino oil = contaminates

Call me stupid and old-fashioned (I am) . . . . oh, and wrong.

I want dino juice in my motors.

Dan (Jones) has told me he runs synthetic in his commute car (5.0 hosstang) and
beats it like a cheap whore. 170,000 and running strong.

My opinion comes partly from by belief in frequent oil changes and I'm so
freakin'cheepcheep.

as an aside here, thinking (always gets me in trouble) - isn't part of the
function of oil to carry away contaminents????

respectfully,
Tweetch Hizone

considered.  My first experience with synthetic oil was Amsoil in a Yamaha
1100 about 28 years ago.  The factory interval was 2,500 miles, and I went
10,000 miles between changes for four consecutive years and at 40,000 miles
the engine looked like new inside the valve covers.  The valves also required
almost no shimming, and I almost felt guilty to throw away the new looking oil
after 10,000 miles.

creates the gunk we see in motors, and synthetic oil doesn't, so the engine
stays clean.  I'm not sure how that affects wear, but I think it's
possible that some of the oxidation products may be abrasive.
