[DeTomaso] ZDDP zinc oil additive

Having lost a lobe on a new cam in less than 50 miles, I listened to some of
my mentors and have been happily using Brad Penn products exclusively now.
http://www.bradpennracing.com/Products/racingoils.html due to their elevated
ZDDP levels as shown:

I started with the break-in oil and have migrated to the 20W-50. As Kermit
pundits, "It isn't easy being green."
The only problem I have with the Brad-Penn break-in oil is that it is
difficult to set the valve lash as the lifters don't bleed as rapidly as
with "normal" oils.

ZDDPlus additive looks good and there are also other alternatives. I have
heard that current API designations for diesels (I think it's CF2) also have
very little ZDDP left in them as catalytic convertors have been introduced
on diesels as well last year.

I'm told the only oils that must have the ZDDP reduced to unacceptable
levels for our engines are those that meet API SL and SM and the current API
diesel designations.

Word is that motorcycle oil without an API is good to go with lots of ZDDP
because motorcycles don't require API rated oil and their engines require
extreme pressure additives (ZDDP). Racing oil without an API SL or SM on it
could also contain a lot of ZDDP if the producer so chooses. You don't want
racing oil with SL or SM on it!

This looks like a promissing alternative as well:
