By giving the radiator more passes you raise up the waterspeed in the 
radiator
vanes without altering the circulation avrage speed. The trick is to reach 
the best
Reynolds number turbulense within the vanes. So, the number of passes is
depending on pump capacity. In a low rpm street use, more passes trought the
radiator is preffered while on a hig rpm race engine single pass will do.
