Normally it needs to be pressed out.   The shop manual isn't very helpful; it 
tells you to remove it. :>)

Actually, it's a bit more helpful than that.   It tells you to remove it with 
the Service Tool, one of the tools included in the dedicated Pantera toolkit 
that dealers had.
