The Deming story is really pretty amazing.  Despite having had a significant
impact on WWII production in the US, he ended up taking his ideas to Japan
after the war.

 

His results there speak to this day.  In fact the Japanese have "Deming"
awards for industry.  Meanwhile, he was being largely unappreciated and
ignored 

In the US. Ford paid some attention to  him in the 80's.  When he was in his
80's. Doh!

human endeavor.
