Yes on the lifters; no on stock rockers. My SVO/NASCAR heads run hydraulic
lifters without problems. All you need to do is 'center' the lifter plunger in
the body- spin the pushrod betweeen thumb & forefinger while tightening the
adjusting nut, until some drag is felt. Then add 1.0 turns of the nut (factory
setting) or 1/4-turn ('performance' setting) and lock the nut. The last method
will give maybe 200 more rpms before hydraulic lifters pump up. But unless you
have converted the rockers to use an adjustable locking nut, there will be
nothing to adjust. Roller rockers are worth the cost due to less sliding friction
on the valve stems & guides, which lowers oil temperatures. Good luck- J
