AsaJay,

Sounds like you need to take the Mustang out of storage, roll the windows down, and go for a nice long cruise thru the backroads....... THEN, come home and dink around on the P-car!

It's only steel.....

As for the messed up nipple, you may have to go in there with either a hacksaw blade and try and notch it, or perhaps a triangular file and work on it enough to weaken it to get it to move..... PITA for sure!!!!

Since your ZF gasket is well oiled, it may come off easily.....soak it in some acetone or similar to float the oil out of it and then let it dry! Then something like the Indian Head Gasket Shellac, or the stuff for bonding VW cases will work....coat the aluminum well on both sides of the gasket areas.... It will be a bugger to get off next time, but it shouldn't let oil into the bolt/stud areas.

OR, you can take a nut off, clean the area out with carb cleaner (Wear safety glasses!!!) and then use silicon sealer like "The Right Stuff" to fill the little void around the bolt/stud area and then tighten it back down. You need a silicon sealer that "resists" oil....

You'll get it, just hang in there and take revelations in your small successes....cuz the big losses are a plenty(but to be expected)! Ask any Goose owner!!! :))))

Ciao!
Steve
