You're right about the square tubes vs. round tubes--I ordered a pair of replacement panels from a vendor a few months ago, and I specified they were for my '72, but when they arrived, the frame repair guy had to literally cut the square-ish tops and spread them to make them fit around the rounded original panel. Plus, one was about a 1/2" off, which he also had to fix.
