Thanks Jim.

I'm proud to say I was a ILWU (Local 19) member for many years in both Seattle and Alaska before going overseas to work. I have locked horns with union business agents and management alike on construction sites.

I am equally proud to have also led men and managed offshore and U.S. construction projects. I don't know about these $7-10 dollar jobs some of you are talking about but all the men I led or worked with were skilled tradesman and as far as I am concerned they earned and continue to earn every god damned penny of their earnings...

They were and still are today kick ass men and woman who I am proud to have been associated with. There is a nobility and purpose in doing the toughest, dirtest and most dangerous jobs where ever those jobs may be.

Soon as we get past the blame game and finger pointing maybe we can get this country back to work.

Go for it Mr. Dawg! I'll second that idea. I have seen media and management
make a cottage industry out of raping companies and blaming unions for their
failure. Just look at the success Frank Lorenzo had destroying Texas Air and
Eastern Airlines and then Blaming the IAM.

Yeah. It was the UAW that forced the GM Executives to take all those
exorbitant bonuses when the company was LOSING money.

Need I repeat my rant from a couple of weeks ago?

Mad Dawg asks, "What is the true intelligent situation"? (US auto
industry).

I can only assume by his statement that he is looking for help in defining
what has happened to the US auto industry, clearly truth and intelligence
are not always harmonic.

It is complex, with fault on many sides, economic, industrial, national and
political. Also, speaking out on it, like any other subject when not
prepared should not be done in anger for whatever reason. That only
confuses the issue and prevents meaningful dialogue that results in
understanding. It is also self demeaning to the person doing it.

If a person is frustrated and angry they should go out in the garage and
turn a few screws, torque down their wheel nuts to 85 lbs. or
check the bolts holding their safety harness in place. Try figuring out the
real torque value for the big nut holding your hub carriers together, maybe
based on Rockwell hardness instead of hearsay.

Lighten up Mad Dawg, there is something of great value in having the 1st
and only vintage racing team in open road racing.
We all know that.
