FWIW, at the Reno Fun Rally, there was a nice example of an owner-swapped
5.4-DOHC modular engine in a Pantera, While the actual engine looks as
massive as an old Hemi in the Pantera's engine bay, the long-stroke 5.4 with its
taller block appears to be an easier swap than the 4.6 'cause the big heads
sit ABOVE the Pantera's inner fender panels, so no head trimming nor fender
notching. Now, as to routine maintenence.... FWIW- J Deryke
