Barry,
 
    Every place Iooked, there were SBC adapters, and different LS1 adapters.  On one site I found something that suggested that the LS1 has a 3/8 inch difference in the tansmission input shaft bearing position, and that the bell housing has to be 3/8 shallower for an LS1 than the pre- LS1 Chevy V8s.
