The good aftermarket valvestem seals are all-teflon (Perfect Circle is one
brand I use) and snap over the ends of cut-down guides. The cutter can be
bought at Crane or Isky Cams (or others) and uses a 3/8" hand-held drill to
shave the diameter of the guide tops down. Takes about 2 minutes per guide-
either stock cast iron or silicon-bronze aftermarket guides.

Its a good idea to replace all stock neoprene seals. Stock 351-C "seals"
really aren't seals. They're umbrellas that grip the upper valve stem and ride
up & down with it, acting as a sort of shower-shield. Not very effective
IMHO. Over time bathed in hot oil, neoprene seals will harden & crack; pieces
then fall in into the oil pan and work their way into the oil pump where the
pieces jam the pump. This debris is what breaks stock Ford distributor
drive gear pins and the oil pump driveshafts. Adding cheaper
partial-neoprene-partial-teflon seals only repeats the cycle over time; use all-teflon seals
and avoid the possibility. Good luck- J Deryke
