There was a published road test in England on a bewinged Pantera back in
the early '90s(?). It showed a slightly lower lap time around Brooklands (I
think) road course with a factory wing. This indicated to the drivers the
wing was doing 'something'- perhaps modifying the trailing airflow.

About the same period, a top-end test was done by one of the big U.S
magazines on a Countach and a Ferrari for 'world's fastest street-legal sports
car'. Without the wing (removed by on-site Lambo technicians), the Lambo gained
about10 mph but used 2-1/2 lanes of a high-speed banked circuit, leaving
black marks on the pavement as the rear end lifted nearly off the ground at
180 mph. They used two test drivers and both said 'once was more than enough!
Never again in a non-winged Countach!' With the wing, that car was planted
and stable but 6 mph slower than the unwinged Ferrari.
Dunno if DeTomaso ever checked the wing mounting angle when he (reportedly)
sold the wings for GT-5 and GT5-S cars for $5000 USD. With a small
checkered cloth on top, it makes a nice picnic table, too..... FWIW- J Deryke
