I spoke to the Comp Cams about getting a custom grind and was told there is
an additional fee because they have to change to a different core...the cost
is about $53 more. Not huge but there's more...turns out their custom grinds are
only done from the "lobe design patterns" they have in their system, which are
plentiful. You can change the LSA but have to use one of their "existing lobes",
and you can still get all the pieces in their kits. Looks like you can come pretty
close to Dan's preferred specs, but not sure
how close the ramp profiles match up.

Summit has the best price for the kits about $30 less than Comp Cams price...
Comp Cams won't match the Summit price. When ordering from Summit or Comp Cams
you have to give a core number (32-000-5 for a Cleveland), then give the lobe grind #.
You also want to make sure that you order a cam kit that has similar lift #'s as the
custom lobe lift...so that you don't order a kit that has weaker springs and try to
install them with a substantially larger lift cam that needs higher seat pressures.

It may be easier in the long run to order #535-TM280HR-284HR-107A from Reed Cams and source
all the parts separately. At least you know your getting a cam that works.

Regards,

Tom
