[DeTomaso] rear suspension survey

My suggestion is to keep the dust shield and not leave it out. It seems like fine dust wears away the exposed bearing seal and then water and such finds it way into the bearing. My car didn't have the shields but when I discovered that they exist I installed them. Running without them I wore out one of the inner bearings in not too many years. Now I admit that it's hard to find out if the seal became leaky because there was play in the bearing or if the bearing developed play because the seal was leaky... :-/
